2. What data we collect and why
This site processes personal data in three separate situations:
2.1. Browsing and analytics (Google Analytics)
When you accept analytics cookies through this site's banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, time spent, device type, approximate location). Google acts here as a data processor. This analytics tracking only runs after you give explicit consent — if you decline or don't respond to the banner, these scripts never load.
2.2. Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site plans to show ads managed by Google AdSense in the future. That integration is not active yet, but we document its data handling here in advance: once enabled, Google (and its advertising partners) may use cookies and browser storage to personalise ads, measure their performance, and avoid showing you the same ad repeatedly — always subject to your consent through the same cookie banner.
2.3. Newsletter sign-up form
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of sending you new content from the blog. We don't share that address with third parties for any other purpose, and we don't use it for anything beyond what you explicitly signed up for.
3. Legal basis for processing
In all three cases above, the legal basis is your explicit consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a): you can give, decline, or withdraw it at any time without it affecting your access to the site's content.
4. Data retention
Your email address is kept for as long as you remain subscribed to the newsletter, until you ask to be removed. Analytics and advertising cookies are kept according to the retention periods set by Google Analytics and Google AdSense respectively (typically between 30 days and 2 years depending on the cookie type), or until you withdraw consent through the banner.
5. Recipients and international transfers
The only third party receiving data through this site is Google (Google Ireland Limited, as the provider of Google Analytics and Google AdSense), which may transfer data to servers outside the European Economic Area under the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. 6. Your rights
As a visitor to this site, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Request the deletion of your data.
- Object to the processing of your data.
- Request that processing be restricted.
