What actually makes it special

The first thing you notice on arrival is how quiet the surroundings are: Almayate Alto is a rural area, away from the bustle of the coast, even though it’s just a few minutes from it. There’s nothing quite like having the pool and the barbecue entirely to yourselves, with no schedules or space to share with other guests — it completely changes the quality of a holiday.

Privacy is another of its strong points: it’s a standalone house, with its own garden and its own pool, without that feeling of being in a resort surrounded by other guests.

And while it’s designed for unplugging, it’s also an excellent base for getting around: not just for exploring the Axarquía, but for reaching other parts of the province of Málaga without any hassle. It’s the kind of place where you can happily stay put all day, or use it as a starting point for longer day trips.
